If your insurance company is not listed, we do not bill them. However, if you have coverage for massage therapy we would be happy to give you a form to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
It is your responsibility to be aware of your insurance coverage and limitations. If we bill your insurance company and they deny your claim for any reason, you are financially responsible.
We do not verify benefits or guarantee coverage. Your insurance may or may not cover the services provided. To obtain the most accurate information, please check with your insurance carrier to discuss the benefits provided by your medical plan prior to your visit.
NOT ALL OF OUR LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPISTS MAY BE IN-NETWORK WITH YOUR INSURANCE PLAN. When scheduling an appointment with us online be sure to choose the correct appointment type to ensure your appointment will be scheduled with a therapist who is contracted with your insurance. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call us at (425) 882-9065. Thank you!
A prescription from your health care provider is needed if we are billing your insurance per insurance guidelines and requirements. If you do not have a prescription you will be required to pay for the visit at the time of service. Your insurance company will not pay for the visit without a prescription. If you obtain a prescription after the service has been performed and it is backdated, we will be happy to refund your payment after your insurance company has paid for the visit.
If you do not have your insurance information with you at the time of service you will be required to pay for the visit at the time of service. If after the visit we receive your insurance information, we will refund your payment upon receipt of payment from your insurance company.
Our massages are 50 minutes. This allows the therapist time to complete chart notes, progress reports and paperwork required by your insurance company, and to prepare the room in between clients.
Medical massage is result oriented and the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a physician. The therapist may use a variety of techniques during the treatment, but will focus the medical massage treatment mostly on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis and prescription.
In order to bill your insurance company for medical massage you must:
1. Have a prescription from your doctor, chiropractor or other medical professional licensed by the State of Washington to diagnose physical ailments. (You do not need a prescription for acupuncture)
Information required on prescriptions:
- Date issued
- Diagnosis and ICD-10 code
- Frequency and duration of treatment or a number of visits
- Provider name and physical or electronic signature
2. Verify Your Insurance Coverage
We do not verify coverage or benefits. Call the 1-800 number on the back of your insurance card to find out if your insurance will cover massage therapy. We do not like surprises any more than you do, and it is good to know your coverage and the details of your plan prior to treatment so you will know what to expect.
3. Complete Our Insurance Paperwork
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for your visit to complete the needed insurance paperwork, or visit the insurance tab on our website to print up our intake forms. Remember to bring a copy of your prescription and your insurance card or information. You can expect a thorough intake session with your massage therapist before the massage begins in which the therapist will put together a massage treatment plan that is in accordance with what your physician has prescribed.
Insurance Bill Rate: 50 Minutes – $225
Billing your insurance requires that we; stay in communication with your doctor, keep detailed chart notes documenting any functional limitations and pain levels, submit chart notes to your insurance company to verify medical necessity, show progress, bird dog claims that may be processed incorrectly, wait 30 to 90 days for payment, and in some cases, contact your insurance company to receive authorization to treat.
Because insurance billing is labor intensive, and reimbursement rates often low, we offer a time of service discount if we do not have to jump through your insurance companies hoops.
Time of service rate if we do not bill your insurance: 50 Minutes – $110
Due to the nature of medical massage we often provide shorts and gown tops to ensure your modesty and allow the therapist more flexibility. Sheets are available upon request.
