Donna practices a “Tan Style” of acupuncture, which is a distal style of needling that relieves neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, stress and anxiety, sinus and allergies issues, digestive disturbances, and more. Her style of acupuncture also facilitates postoperative pain and recovery, offers healthy pregnancy support, relieves insomnia, and boosts the immune system function.
Donna is also a certified Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture Specialist. This is a type of skin care, which gained recognition and acclaim in the June 2010 issue of “O, The Oprah Magazine” is a style of acupuncture that has been shown to alleviate wrinkles by toning and firming skin through the use of specific acupuncture points. This technique increases blood flow to the face, relaxes facial muscles, and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin (structural proteins in the body that revitalize and nourish the skin).
Donna delved wholeheartedly into her interest in traditional Chinese culture in 2001, when she was introduced to qigong. At that time, she also had her first experience with acupuncture, and quickly began to learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine. She studied independently until she decided to enter a full-time program at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2004. She became a licensed acupuncturist in 2007 and then spent three years in an intensive acupuncture residency program at one of the busiest clinics in Washington State.
