As part of our COVID protocol we want to limit time and contact within the clinic. By splitting the appointment into two parts we limit time and contact, and your Acupuncturist is better informed and prepared for your first session.
After you have scheduled your first appointment, you will receive an email providing a complimentary hold for your appointment which expires after 48 hours. The email will confirm the date and time you scheduled and provide you a link to the necessary online paperwork, which includes your health profile, or terms of service, insurance information (if you are using insurance), informed consent and a credit card for securing the appointment.
Once the online paperwork is completed, your appointment is officially scheduled. If you do not have access to the internet or have troubles with the online paperwork, please call us at 425-882-9065 and our Client Services Representatives will make other arrangements.
Yes, 24-hours prior to your appointment you will receive a reminder. This reminder serves two purposes, the first is to remind of the appointment, and the second to signify that you have guaranteed the appointment and will be responsible for paying for the appointment. Please read the Lake Washington Wellness policies which were presented in the intake paperwork, which was signed.

We follow both CDC and the State of Washington’s Department of Health protocols. These protocols require the cleaning of surfaces, the wearing of a mask by the practitioner and client, hand washing, social distancing, having proper ventilation and air-filtration, and screening for signs of COVID and exposure to possible COVID carriers. As part of our COVID screening process, you will be asked to complete a COVID Pre-Screen survey the morning of your appointment.
Distal style acupuncture, which is practiced at lake Washington Wellness, does not require any disrobing or changing into a gown as the needles are placed in your arm, legs and at times your neck. It is best if you wear clothing that you can rest comfortably in. Your shirtsleeves need to be able to pull just above your elbows and your pant legs just above your knees.
Yes. As a healthcare facility, we are required by the State of Washington’s Department of Health and the CDC to have clients and practitioners wear masks.
We utilize a COVID Pre-Screen survey to screen for signs of COVID and exposure to possible COVID carriers. This is best completed on the day of the appointment to most effectively minimize risk of transmission and possible infection for those in the Clinic.
On the morning of your appointment, you will receive a text with a link to our COVID Pre-Screen survey. This survey is easily completed on your mobile phone. Once you complete the Pre-Screen survey you will receive a PASS/FAIL result. If you FAIL, your appointment will be canceled with no-penalty and we will call to reschedule for an appropriate time. With a PASS result, we ask that you arrive at the building no sooner than 5 minutes in advance of your appointment.
We ask that you do not enter the building till 5 minutes before your appointment. Upon entering the building, please stop at the restrooms (which are located between the 911 Driving School and the counseling center) to wash your hands. The bathrooms are secured and require an access code. The bathroom code for the women’s bathroom is 2500# (you must push # at the end) and for the men’s bathroom, it's 2505# (you must push # at the end). After you have finished washing your hands, please enter our wellness center and your practitioner will meet and welcome you.
Your practitioner may conduct additional COVID screening, such as taking your temperature or asking questions, like your social distancing habits. This second level of screening is done to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone in the Clinic.
Your first in-clinic appointment, which will happen after your telephone initial evaluation, will begin with a temperature check and possibly additional COVID screening questions. After this is completed, your acupuncturist will escort you to your treatment room for your session. During this time a review of your initial evaluation will be discussed along with an explanation of the session treatment and answering your questions.
The treatment will begin with the placement of the needles, which are done mostly in your arms and legs. After the needles are placed, clients rest comfortably for 30-40 minutes. Many clients drift into a very relaxed state and may even fall asleep. The treatment table is heated, the lights are turned down, there is optional relaxing music- the perfect environment for a tranquil moment in your day, while your body repairs and renews.
During your session, the Acupuncturist may check in with you and depending on the treatment plan, may adjust the needles.
Your acupuncturist will provide you with an explanation of the recommended treatment plan, provide you post-visit information, answer your questions, and schedule your next appointment.
